Leia Ursery Elected Chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Trust & Estate Section

Denver (July 1, 2018) – The Colorado Bar Association elected Leia Ursery, Of Counsel in Lathrop Gage’s Wealth Strategies practice, Chair of its Trust & Estate Section. The one-year term is effective July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. Ursery previously served as the Section’s Vice-Chair (2017-2018) and Secretary-Treasurer (2016-2017). She is also a member of the Section’s Statutory Revisions Committee and Orange Book Committee.

The CBA’s Trust & Estate Section assists and educates specialists and general practitioners in matters regarding wills, trusts, estates, guardianships and conservatorships. The Section hosts Continuing Legal Education programs, works on legislative issues and changes and addresses issues related to probate rules and procedures. It will also frequently work alongside the CBA’s Business, Elder, Family, Real Estate and Taxation Law sections on topics of mutual concern.

Ursery’s practice focuses on trust and estate and elder law matters, specializing in estate planning, estate and trust administration and protective proceedings. Additionally, she has extensive experience in probate litigation, breach of fiduciary duty and removal actions, fiduciary surcharge actions and asset recovery actions. Ursery is an American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Fellow, a Colorado Super Lawyers Top Rated Estate Planning & Probate Attorney in Denver, and she was named among the 2018 Best Lawyers in America.
