Lathrop Gage Names Courtney Landon Chief Operating Officer

Chicago (September 5, 2017) – Lathrop Gage today announced the appointment of Courtney (Court) M. Landon as Chief Operating Officer effective September 1, 2017. Landon replaces Bill Migneron, who is retiring as the firm’s COO after 10 years at Lathrop Gage and more than 30 years in the legal industry.

Landon joined Lathrop Gage in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the firm’s financial and accounting strategy and overseeing functions including budgeting, forecasting, pricing and managing key banking and business partner relationships. He previously served as practice group operating officer for Quarles & Brady’s transactional practice groups. He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago Kent College of Law, which allows him to bring a unique perspective to the operations side of a law firm.

As COO, Landon will oversee the day-to-day management of the firm’s finances, business operations, administrative personnel, and facilities. He will also serve as a business advisor, working with the chief executive officer and the executive committee with the development and execution of the firm’s strategic plan. He will continue to be based in Lathrop Gage’s Chicago office.

“Court brings significant past strategic and operations experience to his new role and a strong record of success enhancing our finance function since joining Lathrop Gage,” said Mark Bluhm, Lathrop Gage CEO. “He is a great choice to replace Bill Migneron, who blazed a trail to increase focus and understanding of operational functions within law firms.”
