Sean M. Coughlin Joins Lathrop Gage as Of Counsel

BOSTON (August 9, 2011) – Lathrop Gage has announced that Sean M. Coughlin has joined the firm as of counsel in the Boston office. He will concentrate his practice in intellectual property.

Coughlin brings a wealth of knowledge in patent prosecution, including experience in the areas of biotechnology, small molecule chemistry and medical devices. He has been involved in domestic and international patent prosecution matters, due diligence, opposition, and opinion work.

Coughlin received a bachelor of science with honors in biochemistry from Brown University, followed by a master of arts in biochemistry from Boston University’s School of Medicine. He attended Suffolk University Law School and received his juris doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center. Coughlin is published in the American Journal of Physiology and was awarded the National Institutes of Health Obesity Training Grant while attending Brown University.
