Even well-run, highly conscientious health care organizations can unexpectedly find themselves in the crosshairs of a regulator. Enforcement actions can arise in a variety of ways, even when you believe you’ve done everything right. If a patient issue escalates, an employee is arrested for alleged criminal behavior, or you receive an inquiry from the Office of Inspector General or the Department of Human Services — your organization needs to be able to respond quickly and appropriately.

Please join Gray Plant Mooty attorneys Susan Gaertner, Gregory Merz, Jesse Berg, and Julia Reiland for a roundtable presentation on how to best navigate the initial stages of an investigation or enforcement action.

We will review recent enforcement actions and discuss common issues that can lead to criminal or civil investigations. We will also offer practical advice on how to respond when a regulator knocks on your door, including a checklist of critical steps that could save your organization millions of dollars — and perhaps a prison sentence.
