Gray Plant Mooty attorney Kathryn Nash was featured on a three-person panel that explored the current state of higher education on Dec. 4. The panel was organized and moderated by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

Nash, who focuses her practice on higher education and Title IX compliance, said institutions face challenges in their efforts to comply with the Violence Against Women Act.

"Institutions are in a really difficult position," said Nash, co-chair of the firm's Labor, Employment, and Higher Education group. "Because in an environment of limited resources due to budget reductions, they are required to investigate and adjudicate cases of sexual misconduct in a way that complies with federal, and soon to be, state law, and that undoubtedly leaves one and often both parties unsatisfied with the process."

You can read the entire discussion in the print edition of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal (pp. 19-22).
