Up and Running: Getting Your Planned Gift Initiatives Off the Ground

Charitable organizations who are interested in implementing planned gifts should understand where to start in making their gift planning initiatives successful. GPM attorneys Sheryl Morrison and Sarah Duniway will discuss what gift planning involves and how planned gifts fit with an organization’s general fundraising.

We will cover various types of planned gifts and what types of assets might be considered for those gifts, including everything from bequests and beneficiary designations, to charitable remainder and charitable lead trusts, to charitable gift annuities. We will evaluate the appropriateness of these various types of gifts for charitable organizations who are at the forefront of implementing their planned giving programs.

We will also address the policies and considerations that the organization will need to consider implementing, such as gift acceptance policies, endowment policies, and other procedures that will help support the organization’s successful efforts in planned giving.
