12/20/2012

Every edition of this book has been edited by a Gray Plant Mooty franchise attorney since it was first published in 1992

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (December 20, 2012) — Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce Michael R. Gray, from the Minneapolis office of Gray Plant Mooty, along with Natalma M. ("Tami") McKnew of Smith Moore Leatherwood, LLP, edited the Third Edition of “Covenants Against Competition in Franchise Agreements,” published by the American Bar Association (ABA).  Every edition of this book has been edited by a Gray Plant Mooty franchise attorney since it was first published in 1992.

“Originally introduced in 1992, and updated in 2002, Covenants Against Competition in Franchise Agreements is one of the crown jewels in the collection of Forum publications” said Joe Fittante, the Chair of the ABA Forum on Franchising. “This increased value is directly attributable to the efforts of all those involved in this publication over the past twenty years, including Gray Plant Mooty attorney Peter Klarfeld who steered the first and second edition to completion.”

Covenants Against Competition in Franchise Agreements gives franchisors, franchisees, and their counsel a single source for the most current law on the subject in each of the 50 states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, and Mexico. Organized on a state-by-state basis, this book is structured to make understanding and analyzing franchise noncompete law quicker and easier.

Michael Gray observed, “As with prior editions, this book is a product of the hard work and dedication of more than 60 chapter authors, all of them busy practicing lawyers.”
