Gray Plant Mooty’s William Klein Honored with Minnesota State Bar Association Tax Section Distinguished Service Award

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (December 3, 2010) — The law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that the Minnesota State Bar Association Tax Law Section has honored shareholder William D. Klein with its Distinguished Service Award.

The award, granted at the MSBA Tax Law Section’s Annual Judges Conference, is in recognition of a person who exemplifies the highest standards of tax professionalism and whose dedication to the MSBA Tax Law Section, the taxpayers of the state of Minnesota, and the community is commendable.

Klein, a past chair of the MSBA Tax Law Section, and present member of the Executive Council of the MSBA Business Law Section, concentrates his practice on business and tax law issues, especially those involving closely held business organizations (S and C corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies) and their owners. Klein is routinely involved in entity selection and reorganization decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and many other types of business and investment transactions, succession planning, and a wide variety of other issues affecting these organizations, businesses, and owners.

Klein received his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of Gray Plant Mooty’s board of directors.
