Gray Plant Mooty’s Mike Cohen Partners with State of Minnesota to Author Guide for Technology Transactions

5/4/2012

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (May 4, 2012) — Michael R. Cohen, an attorney with the Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty, has authored a new guide for businesses and other organizations that are planning to buy or sell technology.

“A Legal Guide to Technology Transactions” is a collaborative effort of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and Gray Plant Mooty. It is written for entities that are in the process of buying new systems to run their financials, supply chain management, inventory control, human resources, and other critical business functions. The book will help them identify and minimize the risks of contracting for information technology and will review the appropriate contracts and agreements for completing technology transactions.

The free publication is available in hard copy or CD-ROM from DEED’s Small Business Assistance Office:

First National Bank Building, 332 Minnesota St., Suite E-200, St. Paul, MN 55101-1351; Telephone: 651.259.7476 or 800.310.8323; Email: deed.mnsbao@state.mn.us.

This guide is also available from Gray Plant Mooty: 500 IDS Center, 80 S. Eighth St., Minneapolis, MN 55402; Telephone: 612-632-3000. To download the guide as PDF click here.

A free workshop is being planned for Friday, June 22, 2012, to discuss the issues covered in the guide. Contact Mike Cohen, via email, for more information: michael.cohen@lathropgpm.com.
