Gray Plant Mooty’s Kermit Nash Appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for North Dakota
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (March 18, 2010) — The Minneapolis-based law firm of Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Kermit Nash, a principal with the firm’s Entrepreneurial Services team, has been appointed special assistant attorney general for the State of North Dakota. The appointment is for the purpose of advising and representing the North Dakota Corn Council on patent, intellectual property, and other issues relating to the Renewable Electrolytic Nitrogen Fertilizer Production Project.
The Renewable Electrolytic Nitrogen Fertilizer Production Project was created to find an alternative source of nitrogen fertilizer. The North Dakota Corn Council contracted with the Energy and Environmental Research Center at the University of North Dakota to conduct lab experiments to find an alternative way of producing nitrogen. To date, incremental lab breakthroughs have been accomplished and pilot scale facilities are being explored.
Nash’s practice includes an emphasis in energy law, agribusiness, and mergers & acquisitions. He represents and advises clients in a variety of industries, including high tech, clean tech, medical devices, life sciences, private equity, power sports, agricultural and food processing, manufacturing, software, and e-commerce. He serves as corporate counsel to numerous privately-held domestic and international corporations, advising his clients on all aspects of business operations and law.
Nash is a native of Colfax, North Dakota. He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Northwestern College and his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law.
