Gizie Hirsh Named to Leadership Council on Legal Diversity 2019 Fellows Program

Elizabeth Duff, Patricia Lehtinen Silva Named to LCLD 2019 Pathfinders Program

Kansas City, MO (March 5, 2019) – Lathrop Gage selected Associate Gizie Hirsh, in Gizie Hirsh, Associatethe firm’s Kansas City office, to be the firm’s newest member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity “LCLD” Fellows Program, a program designed to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

Additionally, Associates Elizabeth Duff, in the firm’s Kansas City office, and Patricia Lehtinen Silva, in the firm’s St. Louis office, were chosen to participate in the LCLD Pathfinders program, a program designed to train high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies including leadership and the building of professional networks.

Ms. Hirsh is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law practice and practices in all areas of business-related immigration law. She assists such national and local employers as architectural firms, educational institutions, manufacturers, entertainment firms, financial service firms and health care providers with immigration and non-immigrant matters. She focuses her practice representing employers before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of Labor, and the Department of State on a wide variety of immigration issues.

Ms. Hirsh is the third Lathrop Gage attorney to be named an LCLD Fellow. Teofilo Javier, Jr. served as a Fellow in 2018, and Jehan Kamil Moore in 2017.

Elizabeth Duff, AssociateElizabeth Duff is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law practice and represents employers in connection with labor and employment issues, including defending discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and other employment lawsuits; handling charges of discrimination and other administrative claims; representing management in labor arbitrations and other proceedings; and drafting employment handbooks, policies and agreements.

Patricia Lehtinen Silva works across Lathrop Gage’s various teams to meet the varied needs of the firm’s clients. She advises clients concerning environmental due diligence investigations for buyers, sellers, and financial institutions. This includes assessing real estate, regulatory compliance, operations, and historical environmental matters, including experience regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s “all appropriate inquiries” standards for environmental due diligence. She also counsels clients in a variety of complex litigation matters in differing subject matters, including environmental, products liability, business and contractual disputes, employment and intellectual property.

The LCLD Fellows program provides high-potential attorneys from diverse backgroundsPatricia Lehtinen Silva, Associate an ambitious, highly structured training program designed to build relationships and leadership skills. The Fellows program has trained more than 800 mid-career attorneys since 2011 and is one of the LCLD’s most important initiatives.

The LCLD Pathfinders is a program to train high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies including leadership and the building of professional networks. Participants receive intensive in-person training, online experiential learning and opportunities to network with peers and esteemed LCLD Fellows in small group gatherings.
