Five Recent Law School Graduates Join Lathrop Gage

Kansas City, Mo. (October 8, 2018) – Lathrop Gage is pleased to announce that five recent law school graduates have joined the firm as Associates: Mark K. Gum, Timothy (Tim) J. Hadachek, Alana M. McMullin, Andrew (Drew) J. Myers, and Nell A. Neary.

Joining the Kansas City, Missouri office:

Tim Hadachek joins the firm’s Intellectual Property team. While a summer associate for the firm, he gained experience conducting legal research on intellectual property, tort claims and governmental agreements. He also previously interned in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and for the Honorable Steve Leben in the Kansas Court of Appeals. Hadachek received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, 2018, where he was Note and Comment Editor for Kansas Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Council. Prior to law school, Hadachek worked in several capacities with the headquarters of FarmHouse International Fraternity, including as Member Education Coordinator and Director of Chapter Services. He received his B.S. in Political Science from Kansas State University, 2010.

Alana McMullin joins the Insurance Recovery & Counseling team. While a summer associate for the firm, she worked closely with attorneys on Insurance Recovery, Labor & Employment, and Tort matters. McMullin received her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law, 2018, where she was named to the Order of the Barristers and served as Associate Editor of Missouri Law Review. She received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Trial Advocacy and Professional Responsibility. She also received numerous national awards for excellence in advocacy and moot court. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science and Public Law and Theory, from the University of Central Missouri, 2015.

Drew Myers joins the Business Litigation team. While a summer associate for the firm, he assisted a variety of practice area teams including the Business Litigation, Environmental Law and Tort teams. Myers received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law, 2018, where he was Staff Editor for Arkansas Law Review, and received his B.A. in History from the University of Arkansas, 2015.

Nell Neary joins the Real Estate team. While a summer associate for the firm, she gained experience conducting research and drafting briefs and memoranda on various topics including, corporate governance, first amendment rights, attorney-client privilege and real estate taxation. Neary received her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, 2018, where she was Managing Editor for Kansas Law Review and received four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. Prior to attending law school, Neary was the Business Operations Manager for a full-service commercial real estate company. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Kansas, 2013.

Joining the St. Louis, Missouri office:

Mark Gum joins the Corporate team. While a summer associate for the firm, he worked closely with several practice groups, including the Real Estate, Wealth Strategies, Healthcare Regulatory and Compliance Counseling and Franchise and Brand Development teams. Mark received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where he was Senior Editor for Washington University Law Review and received numerous CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. During law school, Mark also worked as a judicial intern for Hon. Judge David Noce for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He received his B.A., cum laude, in Religious Studies and B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Missouri – Columbia, 2009.
