Eric Schmitt and Kurt Schaefer Re-Elected to Senate

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (November 16, 2012) – Lathrop Gage partners Eric Schmitt (Business Litigation – St. Louis) and Kurt Schaefer (Environmental – Jefferson City) have both been re-elected to the Missouri Senate.

Schmitt represents the 15th District in St. Louis County that includes all or parts of Ballwin, Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley, Des Peres, Ellisville, Fenton, Glendale, Kirkwood, Manchester, Sunset Hills, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, Wildwood, and Winchester. He concentrates his practice on real estate and litigation matters, having litigated dozens of land use cases as well as general real estate and business disputes, administrative appeals and condemnation cases, and others in federal and state court. He will serve as the majority caucus chairman and chairman of the Jobs, Economic Development and Local Government Committee.

Schaefer represents the 19th District that includes Boone and Cooper County. He concentrates his practice on litigation, environmental, health care, governmental relations, administrative, business and public utilities. He has litigated bench and jury trials in numerous circuit and federal courts throughout Missouri and the country. He will continue to serve as the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
