Lathrop GPM Associate Shoshanah Shanes Receives Diversity & Inclusion Award
ST LOUIS (July 2022) – Missouri Lawyers Media named Lathrop GPM Associate Shoshanah Shanes to its 2022 class of Diversity & Inclusion honorees. Shanes is one of 18 recognized for “advancing diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.”
Shanes serves as co-chair of the firm’s LGBTQ+ Allies Inclusion Network. In this role, she has taken the initiative to create opportunities for conversation and foster supportive workplace spaces for community members and allies. A leader in the DEI space for many years, Shanes has been an integral member of the firm’s planning committing for pride month, has worked closely with PROMO Missouri (a statewide organization advocating for LGBTQ+ equality), and served as a mentor to LGBTQ+ students while in law school at Washington University.
In addition to her advocacy work, Shanes is building a successful legal practice. An associate in the Lathrop GPM Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, her practice includes commercial and business litigation in state and federal courts, employment litigation defending employers in Missouri and Illinois, financial services disputes, and trust and estates litigation involving breach of fiduciary claims.
Shanes is part of The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’ LGBT section. She has also been involved in queer communities throughout St. Louis, playing both flag football and softball. Additionally, Shanes is a member of the firm’s Recruitment Committee and actively involved with Missouri Botanical Gardens’ professional networks.
