Stephanie Vara Joins Lathrop GPM’s Denver Trust, Estate & Legacy Planning Team

DENVER, CO (Feb. 23, 2021) — Lathrop GPM is pleased to welcome Associate Stephanie L. Vara to the firm’s Denver office and the Trusts, Estates & Legacy Planning Practice Group. Stephanie previously practiced at Milbank LLP in their New York City office.

Stephanie focuses her practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, business succession planning and charitable giving. She advises a wide range of clients, including high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families, fiduciaries, nonprofits and family businesses.  

She has experience drafting documents for and implementing a variety of estate planning strategies, such as dynasty trusts, life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, asset protection trusts, charitable lead trusts and charitable remainder trusts. Stephanie also has experience resolving estate tax audits and advising clients regarding the formation, governance and administration of private foundations and other tax-exempt organizations, including tax compliance.

In addition to Stephanie, Lathrop GPM’s Denver Trust, Estate and Legacy Planning team includes:

  • Partner Alison Zinn, who focuses her practice in trust & estate litigation and leads the firm’s Trust & Estate Litigation group
  • Courtney Conrad, Ben Keller and Scott Malin, who are based in Kansas City, St. Louis and St. Louis respectively and serve Colorado clients’ trust, estate and legacy planning needs as well

Stephanie earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2017. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Duke University in 2013.

In addition to English, Stephanie is fluent in both French and Spanish.
