Mark Levison Appointed to City of St. Louis Organizations
ST. LOUIS (July 26, 2011) – Lathrop Gage partner Mark Levison (Real Estate – St. Louis) was recently appointed to the board of directors of the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) and was elected vice chairman of the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA) for the City of St. Louis.
The SLDC is an umbrella, not-for-profit corporation that oversees numerous city organizations. It is directed by a nine-member board of directors and provides staff and services to all city development boards, including the Industrial Development Authority, Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, Land Reutilization Authority, Local Development Company, Planned Industrial Expansion Authority, Port Authority, Tax Increment Financing Commission, and others.
The LRA receives titles to tax delinquent properties not sold at the Sheriff’s sale and through donations. These properties are sold to individuals or companies for redevelopment with the intent of bringing the properties back into productive use.
Levison concentrates his practice in real estate and business litigation. He has received a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating and previously served as a commissioner for the LRA.
