Gene Lang Joins Lathrop Gage’s Intellectual Property Team in Boston


Boston (Oct. 24, 2019) – Lathrop Gage is pleased to welcome Gene A. Lang, Ph.D. to the firm’s Boston office, joining as Of Counsel in the Intellectual Property Transactions group. Holding a doctorate in Genes and Development/Cancer Biology, Lang primarily aids clients in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and brings more than 10 years related experience.

Lang previously practiced with law firms in Boston, Miami and Washington, D.C., preparing and prosecuting life science, pharmaceutical, medical device and clean technology patent applications, including global patent portfolios related to biologics for a multinational pharmaceutical company. Lang’s practice also includes representation of pharmaceutical companies in the areas of Hatch-Waxman litigation and preparation of patentability, infringement and invalidity opinions.

Lang received his Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in Concord, 2007. He received his Ph.D., in Genes and Development/Cancer Biology, from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Houston and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 2004, and his B.S., cum laude, in Biology, from Millsaps College, 1997.
