Lathrop Gage Adds Tucker Griffith to Intellectual Property Team in Boston

Boston (Oct. 24, 2019) – Lathrop Gage is pleased to welcome Wm. Tucker Griffith to the firm’s Boston office, joining as a Partner in the Intellectual Property Transactions group. Griffith brings more than 20 years’ experience in intellectual property law, previously practicing with a Connecticut-based boutique intellectual property firm. He is especially skilled in matters involving highly technical mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and products.

Griffith prepares and prosecutes patent, trademark and copyright applications for domestic and international clients large and small and manages all aspects of diverse client portfolios. He is experienced in prosecuting utility and design patents for mechanical and electrical systems, medical devices, consumer products, biotech, optics and e-commerce systems; and in prosecuting domestic and international trademark portfolios. Griffith has extensive litigation experience, representing clients at the federal district court and appellate levels, as well as advising clients in administrative review processes including International Trade Commission proceedings, Inter Partes Review, Reexamination and other post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, in international opposition proceedings, and in actions before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Griffith received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, 1998, where he served as Managing Editor of Connecticut Law Review. He received his B.S., in Mechanical Engineering, with distinction, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass., 1995, where he belonged to national engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi and national mechanical engineering honor society Pi Tau Sigma. Griffith also holds a M.A. in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., 2010.
