Partner Paula Pendley discusses food sustainability and the role of food producers in the Feb. 17, 2021 Food Quality and Safety Magazine article “Food Safety a Key Factor in Achieving a Sustainable Food Supply.” (Subscription required.) In the article, Paula is quoted on the benefits of using recycled materials that meet federal regulatory requirements.

“By using recycled materials, producers can support food sustainability by minimizing the environmental footprint of packaged food and reducing food waste accumulation, which can reduce costs over time,” Paula said.

Paula also talks about the increased regulations around PFAS and efforts of the FDA and manufacturers to phase out certain PFAS substances in food packaging.
