The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which includes some of the most stringent data privacy protections in the USA, becomes effective January 1, 2020. The California Attorney General has proposed new regulations and guidance on implementation of the CCPA that covers the collection of customers’ and employees’ personal data — regardless of where your corporate office is located. Franchisors may also be accountable for data collected by its franchisees.

Join Gray Plant Mooty attorneys Michael Cohen, Gaylen Knack, and Amanda McAllister for a webinar that will offer a practical approach to the CCPA compliance. The webinar will cover:

  • What is the CCPA?
  • How the CCPA may apply to your franchise system.
  • How the CCPA may expose franchisors to potential data breach lawsuits.
  • What you can do to get ready.
  • The impact CCPA may have on other states’ laws.
