The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and the law firm Gray Plant Mooty recently collaborated to publish A Legal Guide to Privacy and Data Security. The Guide covers key federal privacy laws and regulations, Minnesota privacy laws, as well as global privacy issues that should be of interest to any Minnesota business or organization that collects, stores, and shares personal information of customers, patients, or employees. The Guide also offers best practices and important steps a business can take to mitigate risk and be better prepared in the event of a data breach.
