WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 8, 2025) — Lathrop GPM is pleased to announce that Sheldon Klein, senior counsel in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, has been named Trademark Attorney of the Year by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC). Klein was recognized at the BADC Foundation Gala on December 6, which honored excellence in the judiciary and the legal profession.

Klein, a nationally recognized leader in intellectual property law, has built a distinguished career representing clients in trademark, copyright, unfair competition, advertising, and social media matters. He has served as President of both the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the U.S. section of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI-US), and he continues to contribute to the advancement of IP law through teaching, writing, and speaking engagements.

Klein earned his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School and his B.A., with high distinction, from the University of Michigan. He was recognized by Lexology Index as a Thought Leader for USA IP/Trademarks in 2025 and has been recognized by the World Trademark Review as a “Leading Trademark Lawyer” since 2015.
