WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 18, 2025) — Lathrop GPM is pleased to announce that Ryan Cangarlu has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as an associate in the Franchise & Distribution practice group. Cangarlu advises clients on franchising, distribution and licensing matters, helping businesses navigate the legal and regulatory environment of growth and expansion.
Cangarlu works with both emerging brands and established franchisors on a wide range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, commercial lease negotiations and capital raising strategies. He also counsels clients on franchise compliance, registration and disclosure requirements.
Before joining Lathrop GPM, Cangarlu practiced at an Am Law 100 firm in its corporate practice group. He also gained experience as a legal intern with Stratus Building Solutions and as a summer associate at the Federal Trade Commission.
Cangarlu earned his J.D. from Georgetown Law in 2023 and his B.A. from American University in 2019. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
