Megan Miller recently co-authored the Fourth Edition of the American Bar Association’s What is a Trademark book. She collaborated with Jay Erstling, an emeritus professor of international intellectual property law at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, on the project.
The book, designed as a basic primer for laypeople and small business owners, explains the fundamentals of trademarks, their purpose, and how they can benefit businesses. In a recent interview with Upsize Magazine, Miller emphasized the importance of upfront research and trademark searches, ideally with an attorney’s assistance, to avoid future infringement issues and costly rebranding efforts. She also highlighted the book’s accessibility and its availability through the ABA’s publishing arm.
