ST. LOUIS (April 22, 2025) — Lathrop GPM LLP is proud to announce that Partner Scott Malin has been recognized by Missouri Lawyers Media with a 2025 ICON Award.

ICON Awards are presented to members of the Missouri legal community aged 60 and older who have demonstrated notable, sustained success and strong leadership within and outside the field of law. Malin will receive this honor during the ICON Awards luncheon on June 26.

Malin’s practice focuses on estate planning, business succession planning, estate and trust administration and charitable planning for high-net-worth individuals, privately held businesses and families. He is the co-leader of Lathrop GPM’s Closely Held Business Institute, which provides topical programs, networking events and educational resources to support the long-term success of closely held businesses.

Malin previously served as Lathrop GPM’s Business Division Chair, Deputy Managing Partner, and on the firm’s Executive Committee, where he focused on the firm’s strategic growth. He is an adjunct Professor at Washington University where he teaches a class in Closely Held Business and Succession Planning, a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), and Past President of The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Probate and Trust Law Steering Committee.

In addition to this award, Malin is consistently ranked among The Best Lawyers in America® and recognized by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers. He has also been named a leading practitioner of private wealth law in Chambers High Net Worth.

With his inclusion, Malin now joins Senior Counsel Jerry Riffel (2024), Partner Bill Beck (2023) and Partner Jean Paul Bradshaw (2019) in representing the firm on this esteemed list of honorees.

For the past eight years, the ICON Awards have annually honored attorneys and judges who have served the Missouri region with distinction.
