CHICAGO, Ill. (June 29, 2026) — Lathrop GPM Partner Malaika D. Tyson, Ph.D., has been named to the 2026 Lawdragon 500 Leading Global IP Lawyers, a guide recognizing outstanding intellectual property attorneys from around the world. This marks Tyson’s second consecutive selection to the prestigious list.

Lawdragon’s 2026 guide highlights lawyers who are helping clients protect innovation, defend brand integrity and maximize the value of intellectual property assets in an increasingly complex global marketplace. Honorees are selected through a combination of editorial research, submissions and peer review.

Tyson advises clients across a range of industries, particularly life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, materials science and consumer products.

Since joining Lathrop GPM’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in 2025, Tyson has helped clients ranging from emerging companies and research institutions to multinational organizations develop and execute intellectual property strategies aligned with their business objectives.

“Our clients operate in industries where innovation drives success and intellectual property is often among their most valuable assets,” said Kate Tompkins, leader of Lathrop GPM’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. “Malaika combines deep scientific knowledge with strategic legal insight, and this recognition reflects the tremendous value she delivers to clients every day.”
