LOS ANGELES (May 26, 2026) — Lathrop GPM LLP is pleased to announce that Ronald Valenzuela has been named Partner in Charge of the firm’s Los Angeles office. He succeeds Laura Reathaford, who has served in the leadership role since January 2022. Laura has stepped aside to provide Ron with the opportunity to lead the office while she continues to focus on supporting her clients with the personalized counsel she is known for. During her tenure as Partner in Charge, Reathaford successfully advanced the office’s visibility and exemplified top-tier client service.

As Partner in Charge, Valenzuela will lead the Los Angeles office as it continues to grow its visibility and capabilities in key areas, including litigation, franchise, labor and employment, and environmental tort. He brings steady leadership, strong relationships and a deep commitment to the firm to his new position. Valenzuela is a partner in the Tort, Insurance & Environmental practice group and has been with Lathrop GPM since 2017.

“Ron’s dedication to the firm over the last eight years, combined with the strong relationships he’s formed in Los Angeles over his nearly 20-year legal career, make him a natural choice for this role,” said Lathrop GPM Managing Partner Cameron Garrison. “He is well positioned to help our Los Angeles team continue to thrive and build on our existing strengths. I also want to thank Laura Reathaford for her thoughtful leadership and the lasting impact she has had on the office culture over the past several years.”

“I am honored to take on the Partner in Charge role and look forward to building on the strong foundation that Laura established in Los Angeles,” Valenzuela said.

Valenzuela brings nearly 20 years of legal experience in California and serves as a trusted advisor to major companies across diverse industries, specializing in tort and environmental litigation. His practice includes defending clients in the aerospace, consumer products, energy, retail and consumer electronics sectors. Valenzuela also frequently navigates complex class actions involving federal and state consumer protection laws.
