Lathrop GPM is actively seeking an employment attorney for our growing employment and higher education practice. This position is a Counsel role.  It is a salaried position designed to be flexible on location and can be affiliated with any of our offices.  This position is also flexible in that it can either be full time or part time. It is a unique opportunity for an experienced lawyer who is looking for a Counsel role and wants to do sophisticated legal work with direct client involvement.

Responsibilities will include providing legal support and advice to the firm’s business clients on employment law matters.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of employment law experience (in both advising and litigation roles) including: research, brief writing, preparation of pleadings, policy drafting, investigation of misconduct complaints, preparation of charge responses, and client advising.  In addition, the successful candidate will have a willingness to investigate reported incidents of workplace and student policy violations, including alleged sexual harassment and sexual misconduct on college and university campuses.

IP Bio Patent Attorney – Multiple Offices

Job Description:

Lathrop GPM is actively seeking a full-time patent attorney with at least 2 years of biotech patent prep and prosecution experience within a law firm setting to join our growing Intellectual Property practice group. Work will include preparation and prosecution of patent applications, IP due diligence, patent portfolio management and general intellectual property counseling for clients ranging from start-up entrepreneurs to large biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and research institutions. The position offers extensive professional development and mentor support in a team culture. This position could be based out of any of Lathrop GPM’s offices.

Job Requirements:

A strong scientific background and Ph.D. in a relevant life sciences discipline (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, and immunology) are required. Candidates should possess strong technical skills along with excellent communication and writing skills.

Compensation and benefit information for Colorado candidates: $140 - 145k annually; full comprehensive benefit plan including health care, retirement plan and paid days off, including PTO, parental leave and short/long term disability.

Tax Credit Associate – St. Louis

Job Description:

Lathrop GPM is actively seeking an experienced real estate transactional or tax attorney to join our Firm as an associate for our tax credit group in our St. Louis office. The associate would work on a wide range of transactions involving federal and state tax credits, with a focus on federal new markets tax credits, federal low-income housing tax credits, federal renewable energy tax credits and federal historic rehabilitation tax credits. The ideal candidate will have approximately three to five years of real estate transactional, finance or general tax experience with knowledge of partnership tax. Experience with tax credit transactions and government incentive programs would be a plus, but not a requirement.
