Eva Helmerhorst, Ph.D.
Dr. Eva Helmerhorst, Ph.D., is a Technical Specialist in the firm's Boston office who focuses her work on the preparation and prosecution on patent applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the areas of biochemistry and biotechnology, including diagnostics. Additionally, Eva performs opinion work, including patentability analyses and prior art assessments, to assist in global patent strategy. She has experience analyzing invention disclosures and helping to develop global patent strategies, as well as handling prosecution and filing correspondence with clients, local agents and foreign patent offices.
Prior to her legal career, Eva worked for 18 years as an academician in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry and immunology, and authored over 70 publications in peer reviewed journals.
