Amanda M. McAllister, CIPP/US, CIPP/E

Amanda McAllister assists clients on matters pertaining to data privacy, data breaches and cyber-security, trademark, domain name disputes, and technology licensing agreements. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in U.S. and European law and advises clients on data privacy, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and certification under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield frameworks. Amanda also advises clients on matters involving social media, influencer agreements, advertising, marketing and brand management, and contests and sweepstakes.

While attending the University of Minnesota Law School, Amanda served as an editor for Minnesota Law Review, where she wrote on legal issues related to emerging technologies, and as a legal writing student instructor. Amanda also was the student director for the Human Rights Litigation & International Advocacy legal clinic and traveled to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland to advocate for measures combating violence against women on behalf of one of her clients. During her time in law school, she volunteered with the Asylum Law Project, the Native American Services Project, and the International Refugee Assistance Project to provide pro bono legal services to clients around the globe.

  • Advises clients on compliance with data privacy laws by drafting internal and external data privacy policies and advising on privacy program management for GDPR compliance
  • Advises clients on compliance with advertising law, including reviewing advertising and promotional materials, drafting official rules for promotions and contests, and drafting influencer agreements
  • Advises clients in domain name disputes, including filing Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution (UDRP) actions
